Key concepts

Six terms that explain how Locuvox works.

Project

A project is one brand you monitor. It holds your brand and domain, your competitors, your prompts and all the data Locuvox gathers. Most accounts have one project per brand; agencies run many.

Engine

An answer engine is an AI product that answers questions — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Locuvox checks up to all seven.

Prompt

A prompt is a question Locuvox puts to the answer engines on your behalf. Each prompt has a country and a schedule (daily, weekly or monthly).

Check

A check is the billing unit: one prompt put to one engine, once. A prompt run against five engines uses five checks. Each plan includes a monthly check allowance, pooled across all projects.

Visibility & position

Visibility is how often your brand appears in answers, as a share of the answers captured. Position is the order your brand is named within an answer — lower is better.

Sentiment & stance

For every mention, Locuvox records a sentiment grade (Advocating, Positive, Neutral, Cautious, Negative) and the answer's stance. These power the five sentiment dashboards — see How sentiment works.

Together: a project runs prompts against engines, consuming checks, to produce visibility, position and sentiment.
